Local Trade Copier 3.1.8 by Algonexis Technologies (mt4copier.com) was released on October 22, 2026. It makes copying to MT5 netting accounts and FIFO accounts at US brokers follow the master more completely. It also adds a new safety setting, MaxMinLotUpsize, which stops small accounts from being over-risked when the broker’s minimum lot is larger than the calculated lot size.
New: MaxMinLotUpsize (minimum-lot safety limit)
On small client accounts, the calculated lot size can be below the broker’s minimum lot. Until now, Local Trade Copier always copied such trades with the minimum lot, even when that meant several times the intended risk.
With the new MaxMinLotUpsize setting (default 2.0), LTC Client copies the trade with the minimum lot only if that is at most 2 times the calculated lot size. If the upsize would be larger, the trade is not copied. You see a clear ATTENTION message in the Experts tab, and an alert pops up once per symbol.
To keep the previous behaviour, set MaxMinLotUpsize to 0.
MT5 netting accounts
Copied positions on MT5 netting client accounts now follow the master’s closes, partial closes and Stop Loss / Take Profit. The Stop Loss and Take Profit of a netting position are taken from the most recent master trade on that symbol.
FIFO accounts (US brokers)
A master trade closed with “Close By” is now also closed on a FIFO client account, and copied pending orders are moved when the master moves them.
Other improvements
- Partial close of a minimum-lot copy: the copy stays open (it used to be closed completely) and is closed when the master closes the rest.
- Partial closes while LTC Client was off: partial closes made on the master while LTC Client was not running are applied when it starts again.
- Symbol mapping for indices: automatic mapping no longer picks share CFDs, ETFs or dated futures (for example
US100_Z26) for an index, and it recognizes more Nasdaq 100 names:USNDAQ100,NDX100,USTECH,USTECH100andNQ100. - Close By: fixed a case where the copy of one side of a Close By stayed open.
- Short-expiration pending orders: if the client’s broker rejects the expiration, the order is placed without one and removed when the master order expires.
- Clearer messages: on MT5, the broker’s own reason is shown when a trade can’t be opened or placed.
- LTC Server: no false ERROR message after a Close By that fully closes both positions.
Also included: everything since 3.1.0
Version 3.1.8 is the first public release since 3.1.0, so it also brings these improvements:
- Much faster copying on long-running and large setups. Old closed-trade files used to pile up and be re-read on every cycle. They are now cleaned up automatically, an old backlog is cleared in the background, and setups with many master accounts no longer slow down.
- Faster symbol mapping on brokers with thousands of symbols, including hidden symbols that aren’t in Market Watch.
- Manual-Like Entry: LTC checks free margin before opening the order window and logs the broker’s real rejection reason, instead of failing silently.
- Broker protection: each copied trade is modified at most once every 5 seconds and 60 times per hour, so a copier can’t get your account flagged for endless modification requests.
- MT5: Stop Loss / Take Profit are now set reliably on new trades, even when the position appears in the terminal a moment late.
- MT5 master to MT4 client: trades with very large MT5 ticket numbers are copied and followed correctly.
- Safety: manual trades are never treated as copies, and “Close all” no longer gets stuck.
- New
CustomPointSizessetting for symbols where the broker’s point size doesn’t suit point-based settings.
How to upgrade
LTC Server and LTC Client 3.1.x work together, so you can update them independently. Almost all fixes in 3.1.8 are in LTC Client, so update your Clients first. Check the new MaxMinLotUpsize default on small accounts.
If you update LTC Server: its Stop Loss / Take Profit override and Emergency Stop Loss settings are now in points instead of pips (OverrideStopLossPoints, OverrideTakeProfitPoints, EmergencyStopLossPoints, CustomPointSizes). Old pips values are not carried over, so enter them again in points (on most 5-digit forex brokers, 1 pip = 10 points).
The full list of changes is on the Local Trade Copier changelog.
FAQ
Do I need to update LTC Server and LTC Client at the same time?
No. Server and Client 3.1.x are compatible. Most 3.1.8 fixes are in LTC Client.
Why was a trade not copied after the update?
Check the Experts tab for an ATTENTION message about the minimum lot. If the broker’s minimum lot is more than 2 times the calculated lot, the trade is skipped. Set MaxMinLotUpsize to 0 to copy it anyway.
Can I copy to an MT5 netting account?
Yes. As a client account, an MT5 netting account now follows the master’s closes, partial closes and Stop Loss / Take Profit.
